the assignment: create a test. achievement, aptitude, cognitive or other; standardize, define norms, evaluate statistically.

the test: measure of verbal and nonverbal creativity.

our pilot study was done today. here are a few of the best responses...

wait a minute! don't you want to try it yourself? task 1: get a piece of paper and first come up with as many possible uses as you can for each of forks, rubber bands, and quarters (allow 90 seconds for each). task 2: then, come up with as many items as you can that have one of the following properties - things that make you cold, things that are loud, things that have spots (allow 60 seconds for each). remember, it's a creativity test. use your right brain.

uses of a fork: raking leaves; to connect a circuit
uses of a rubber band: as a remote control (fire at the 'channel up' button)
uses of a quarter: tape them to the wall to guide you to the washroom in the dark

things that make you cold: having no blood in your body; ethanol + dry ice
things that are loud: female tennis players; an exploding N2 tank; sonic boom
things that have spots: nanoparticles; kids who fall off skateboards

and you should see the drawing section...

N2 doesn't explode, it doesn't even fizzle.
