when we were little, we used to mark off the signs of spring on a list the m.u. would draw up for us. the first robin sighting, the melting of the last snowbanks, the appearance of snowdrops, then crocuses, then tree buds and daffodils.




it's been a while since I last spent a spring in this neck of the woods. I'd forgotten how pretty it is.




and how infuriating. we keep getting those days when the sun is shining and the birds are chirping and you run outside all warm and happy because spring has finally sprung, then realize you should have worn mitts and another sweater. and your winter coat.
