When I was about 10, I dressed up as an alien for Halloween. I made the costume myself out of cardboard boxes and hot pink tissue paper.

It snowed that year.

Another year I was a mummy. My mom wrapped me up in toilet paper and painted my face white.

It snowed that year too.

Today is Halloween, and it's a hot and sunny day here in Sydney. Played soccer in the Domain this morning, then explored the food festival in Hyde Park and refueled on steak pie. My bedroom window is wide open. I'm wearing shorts and a tank top.

Today is Halloween, and no one seems to notice. But that's okay, because today it feels more like the 4th of July. It's a good day to live in Australia.
