Well. Today was the day. The day I lost $1050 and gained something much shinier, much lensier, and so much more worth the space it takes up in the universe.

It's sitting here staring at me with its big beautiful Nikon eyes. And its many, many Nikon buttons.

It makes a sound when I take pictures. You know that giggly noise babies make that means 'you just tickled my belly and I like blowing spit bubbles and don't you just love life'? That's what it sounds like.

To anyone who plans on traveling with me in the foreseeable future - or even just taking me within telephoto reach of anything remotely photogenic - I offer my most sincere apologies.
